What do you call a paralysing type of sleep?

This is the case. Some nights I would wake up from sleep at 3 or 4 in the morning. Then i wouldnot sleep for sometime, and just before dawn i would drowse off into this half sleep where i get literally paralysed. I cant move my body and i cant speak, but i am not asleep. This happens only when i sleep alone. Is there a sleep disorder or some kind of medical justification for this? Please help!

Yes, that is sleep paralysis.
Sleep paralysis, which according to MedicineNet.com, is “when a person suddenly finds himself or herself unable to move for a few minutes, most often upon falling asleep or waking up.”
Yes, it’s called sleeping paralysis. I’ve experienced it I thought I was dying ha.
