Inflatable beds…Aero beds and their reviews?

I need to purchase an Aero bed; what style is best? Is it better to buy one with a pump built in, or best to purchase one that does not have a built-in pump. I have read mixed reviews. How long do they last? Pros/cons and would you recommend? Thanks.
The reason this question was posted in hunting is because the other category it defaulted to was "toys." Campers and hunters use this type of bed in tents.
If you have details to add such as a different brand that is just as good as Aerobed, or the price you would recommend in order to receive decent quality. I want to keep the price under 0, but still purchase a bed that won’t deflate /pop. The bed would be for guests; my son is 6′ 7" and weighs approx. 200-plus lbs. I do not want it to deflate; I have read reviews and some people have written this was a problem. There is one bed that has a regulator switch…where you can add or delete air with an attached remote control. I do plan to buy one that has a built-in pump. Thanks.
I purchased a Coleman double high Quickbed, queen size, with electric pump combo. The electric pump is separate. The reason was that the bed can be put anywhere, and an extension cord can be used to attach to the pump if there is no outlet near the inflatable bed’s location in a room. Otherwise, the built-in pump type, which has a cord that goes directly into a wall socket could have a disadvantage if the outlet is too far from where the bed will be blown up. I did my research. Regular price at Big 5 was ; I paid (on sale).

We are traveling to Orlando, FL (and then onto Sannibel Island where we have a condo) for Spring vacation. We will be having some guests with us, and to comforatably sleep everyone we feel it is necessary to bring an ‘AeroBed’. We have a twin sized which is sufficient. How can we meet the TSA regulations (and United Airline’s,) by bring something of this size (deflated and folded) with us?

I have been sleeping on an air mattress placed on top of it for the last 6 months…first an aerobed then a normal camping one.

I have noticed the normal mattress now has creaky springs when I press down on it. It did not when new. It bothers me more than the average person because I have eating disorder issues and naturally, im panicking, thinking it is because I weigh too much. My mother has a guest bed with the same mattress, a double version, and hers is older but doesn’t creak like this.

It is a tufted, micro coil mattress…Silentnight. It is only less than a year old. I am 126 Ibs so surely my weight cannot have done this?

Could it be the central heating or the air mattress? Or the fact I often dropped it back down when I turned it? I wish someone could come up with a solution to calm me as I have really been upset over it, thinking it is because all the scales are wrong and I weigh tons.
My logic is that I must have sunk it down so far that I have damaged the springs or something.

This Must Mean I Am Immeasurably Heavy?

i need to vent. For Thanksgiving, we are staying with my in-laws. They have a queen size aerobed for us to sleep on. my parents only have 2 twin beds (plus, i think other relatives are staying a night). The problem is that my mother in law has decided that instead of putting us in their office (my husbands old room) they are going to put us in the finished basement. THERE IS NO DOOR GOING DOWN TO THE BASEMENT! this brings up 2 issues….no privacy at all! anyone could walk down at anytime (which they will). And, because the cat is coming with us, he is going to have to be in a cage the whole night because of the other animals (1 dog 1 cat). You just cant put a shelter cat in a cage ever again, minus the fact he will cry all night (we tried locking him in the bathroom one night and all he did was cry).

So, my only solution (unless you have any others) is to think of good excuses to sleepover at mom’s by myself for most of the nights, and be without my husband. HELP!!!

wattage to voltage conversion, pt 2/more detail?

I have a 75 watt dc to ac power converter (that I want to use while car camping) and an aerobed with an AC motor – UL sticker on motor says: 120v AC, 60 Hz, 1.0 amps. Will this power converter provide enough juice to inflate my aerobed?

What is a good spare bed?

My husband and I have a regular bed for our room but are not sure what kind of bed to get for our spare room. My 18 year old brother is moving in and our parents come to visit once in a while so we need a mattress that we can put out for company (our spare room is also our office and we can’t afford a normal bed) but can still stand the abuse of 18 year olds. I’ve looked at some like Simmons and Aerobed but I’m not sure which is a better buy since they all seem to have equal good and bad reviews.

Where should I have my son sleep in the hotel?

My son is 14 months and is very tall and 30lbs. We brought the pack-n-play last time and he slept in it but he did not have any space to move around. I was thinking of buying a kids air mattress but I don’t want him to roll off and hurt himself. He is not ready for a big bed yet. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Aero-40010-AeroBed-for-Kids/dp/B00006IV33/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1245859704&sr=8-1

Should I just put cushy blankets on the floor for him or get the air mattress? What would you do?
Nina that is a GREAT idea! I didn’t even think of it.
Yeah, I would ask for a crib but sometimes they are yucky. They are not always in the best condition either (safety wise.)
