What kind of bed can I buy with no smell?

My boyfriend and I can’t stand the air mattress smell. We had a good brand that popped and can’t find it in any other stores. We bought a Coleman and it just stinks. Are there any two person futons, foam mattresses or even air mattresses that don’t smell under 0? And what stores sell them?

Help finding a shorter twin mattress?

Here’s the deal:

We have a HiLo camper. There are two sofas along the walls that we sleep on, but the current cushions absolutely kill our backs, even after adding two egg cartons and a feather bed topper. We want to add a mattress at least 6" thick on each side. The problem is that the couches measure 38×72 and a normal twin mattress is 38×75. Sleeper sofa mattresses are only 72" long, but since they are designed to fold up they are only usually 4 or 4 1/2" thick and that is about what we have right now.

I have a few estimates to make a custom foam or latex mattress, but since we need TWO price has become an issue. Most estimates are at least 00, which is almost as much as we paid for the whole camper. We’ve also thought of air mattresses, but 1) most of them are also 75" long and 2) we usually camp without electric hookup so inflating/deflating them every day so we can sit on the sofas would be problematic.

Any ideas?

Should he have offered to sleep on the floor?

My husband, myself, our 2 daughters, and my in laws went out of town yesterday. They paid for the hotel we were staying in. it had 2 double beds in it. My husband was in such a hurry yesterday he forgot the air mattresses for our daughters, and extra pillows. that meant the girls would have to sleep on the floor with nothing. we made makeshift beds on the floor, my youngest rolled over and hit her face and got a nose bleed, so she wanted in our bed. There isn’t enough room, and i felt bad for her. my husband didn’t budge. he stayed sleeping on the bed while i moved to the floor. i slept on the floor with no pillows or blankets, because i wanted to make sure our girls were covered. I feel he should of offered the bed, he has absolutely no manners in my opinion. would you have said something? if so what would it be?

I asked this one other time. but the situation has become worse. Every year we go on a family vacation with my in laws. each individual family is required to pay their half of the cabin rental and bring food. Fine. I have absolutely no problem with that. We rent a 10 sleeper cabin each summer for a week. This year, my mother in law has invited both of her brothers to go with us, and their spouse. one of the brothers daughter and grand daughter are going as well. These new added families do not have to contribute to the cost of the cabin, nor are they being asked to by food. I find this TOTALLY unfair. when we bring it up to my mother in law she says it will all work out fine! by whom? We were at her house today when she invited her nephew his wife and their 3 small kids. Mind you this is a 10 sleeper cabin. Out of respect for my elders (hubby’s aunts and uncles) i get that they need a room but they didn’t pay for anything. I think they should take the air mattresses that i was told today to bring for my 2 girls. Why should i provided food and beds for all these people my mother in law keeps inviting? how do we tell her enough is enough? with out up setting her
great answers. The cabin had to be paid in advance, We paid our share the end of may. We are to leave wednesday morning. And i am told today that i now need to bring and addition 5 pounds of chicken, 2 more gallons of milk. and a few other things…cant these other family members get it? if they are that broke then they DONT need to go in my opinion!

Seriously, please read this and give me an honest answer. I totally want some perspective.

So my inlaws have been known to behave in a pushy, domineering way and we moved halfway accross the country.

Now they are visiting, and staying in our house, as a couple, for the first time.

I have been cleaning up after them (they cook, as a "favor," but then leave every single cooking component – from salt to creepy used pans – out for me to clean up. I do garbage, laundry, floors and two loads of dishes every day.

I did my best to provide them with a comfortable place to sleep, in the most private area possible.Air mattresses, unfortunately, but they knew that, in advance, and said that they didn’t mind because it was better than sleeping in a hotel. Anyway, i made it into a cute, comfortable little dorm room that has served previous guests very well. Tons of fresh towels, plenty of pillows. A clean rug.

There was room for their suitcases and stuff -plenty of room- near their beds. They have put their stuff all over the house – their open suitcases (underwear) in my office, their laundry in the hall outside the family bathroom I got ready for them and asked them to use – their makeup mirror in my preschooler’s bedroom (light is better there) – and – check this shit out –

THEY ARE NOW SLEEPING IN MY BED. My husband’s and mine, whatever. In my room. I can’t get to my stuff. I can’t use my private bathroom unless they’re up and out (one of them sleeps until noon).

To be fair, they did pay to fix the air conditioning in my van. It wasn’t completely broken, and I didn’t ask them to fix it, and they didn’t ask me if they could fix it. They just took the van in. Although it’s nice, I guess, I have also been stuck with no vehicle for two days, and have ridden everywhere with them.

I think they’ve paid for my dinner out about three times and for ice cream once. I mention this because this is a courtesy they’ve provided in return, and I want to be fair.

Am I being a normal hostess, an asshole, or a complete pushover (as my mom says) or what?

Would it be rude to grab my eldest daughter and go to the beach today by ourselves? Of course when I mentioned it they piped up and said that they wanted to go, but if they go I might as well not.
So I was filled with righteous indignation because of all the Yahoo! kindness, and I did the following:

1) In MY bathroom (not the guest bathroom): hung up a hottie nightgown and bra on the door hook immediately next to the door hook my MIL’s matronly nightwear and huge, over-the-shoulder-boulder-holder (immature, but that’s the phrase that comes to mind each time I see it). This was mean, but I was mad. Her nightwear and big workhorse bra were gone after I returned from the beach. I put mine away, too.

2) Threw their suitcase in MY bedroom. This turned out to be only moderately gratifying, because then I noticed they had MORE stuff in my office (where I am sleeping), like a shopping bag, etc.

3) Continued to sleep in my office on an air mattress

4) Used my own G**D*** guest bathroom because my MIL, who now has a common cold, or the vapors, is sleeping late, in MY BED, blocking MY bathroom, because she is so sick she might have to leave early.

<3 you all thx for time & honesty
4) Stopped cleaning. Dinner is still on the stove from last night.

5) Though about planting a book with a fake cover that says something like, "Dealing with Your Husband’s New Gayness"

6) Felt sick to my stomach because I really know I need to put an end to this but am reluctant to give them the showdown they’re gunning for
Again, i appreciate anyone who actually spent time reading this and typing an opinion. I’m not giving a "Best Answer" because I found something in each answer that was thoughtful.

Nobody worry! My MIL won’t leave early because of illness, this is merely a ploy for attention. Actually, it’s one of the less harmful ones.

Bed Bugs won't go away!!?

Okay, bare with me because this is a long one!
We currently live with my in laws and about 2 months ago we found out we had
bed bugs(mind you there is 15 people in this 2 bedroom house).
The landlord paid for an exterminator to come out(but we’re currently paying the landlord back) and the exterminator sprayed for these little bastards 3 times and turns out he was only spot spraying. Well the guy was a dick and 3 other tenants of my landlords complained of his attitude too! The guy keeps telling my landlord he’s coming out to spray but he’s been a no show, twice! We’ve alcoholed the house from baseboard to ceiling, everything is swept everyday and all bed sheets, etc are dried at least 30 minutes on high everyday, and there is no furniture but air mattresses and tv stands in the house(which have been inspected, and nothing found). We keep finding them in our beds,
laundry, you name it.

Is there any other way to get rid of the bastards? None of us are getting any sleep and there are four babies in the house.
But my daughter and my husband, and i are moving out in a week and we’re so afraid of taking them with us. we’re not taking anything really but our tv, fridge, freezer, air matts, and my grandmothers tables and rocker. in the house is also infested with cockroaches(but we’ve nipped that pretty much in the bug with the Ortho)
ps some people moved out today and the rest is going next week which means all kids will be out of the house

During my afternoon nap I had a really strange dream. I had a dream that I had to stay at a friends house and there was about 6 twin beds in a room. Then underneath the floor there was a bunch of air mattresses I guess to make the floor softer, but then later they were mattresses filled with a clear liquid that I was thinking could be involved in meth production. So I went to my bed and there was a mouse in it with all sorts of mouse poop. It totally grossed me out and then I saw a mouse in the sink. The next thing I know, all of these leaches and lizards are sticking onto me. I am freaking out at this point. I pull them all off and then decide that i will go to a hotel. I then leave and get stuck in the garage. I woke up as I was screaming for help through a little window. What in the world does that mean?

My friend touched my breasts?

Hi. I’m 15 and I’ve had this friend, Robbie, who I’ve known since kindergarten. We live on the same street and our parents are best friends. So anyway, last weekend he slept over at my place and we just slept on separate air mattresses. Anyway, in the middle of the night I woke up because I had a weird dream. I felt something cupping my breast. I was sort of half asleep so I just tried to go back to sleep when the hand starting to squeeze my breast. I realized it was Robbie, and I didn’t really like it, but I didn’t want to make it awkward or embarrassing so I just rolled onto my stomach and I heard him go back to his mattress. I don’t think he knew I woke up. Anyway, since then, lately he’s been doing really weird things, like, when were sitting next to each other he’ll rest his hand on my upper thigh or of were standing he kind of rests his hand on my butt. Its really uncomfortable but I REALLY don’t want to bring it up with him! What can I do??
