I somehow got lucky and my dad’s friend is giving away his queen size sleep number bed for free! There’s nothing wrong with it, the guy and his wife just didn’t like it. Anyways, what kind of bed frame do I use? Any queen size frame?

BQ: If you have one or know someone who does, do they like it? We are going from a cheap full size mattress to this so I am not going to complain.

What size bed would 2 twin mattresses make?

I have a twin (single) mattress bed now. My brother had the same one, but recently just got am queen size. So we put his old mattress in storage. I was thinking that instead of buying a new mattress, I could just put mine and his together on a bigger frame. Does anyone know what size bed frame that would be? And if it would work pretty well? Thanks!

How to make a bed riser or lift?

Has anybody made a bed riser or lift for a bed before? I’m looking for directions on how to make a riser for a dorm room bed. The riser need to be able to elevate the bed an additional 30 inches off the ground.
Please do not suggest I buy one without naming the place to buy it from. Would prefer to buy if under 30 dollars, but I am willing to make it. Has to be stable enough for a lofted bed to sit upon.
I need risers that are EXTRA TALL not the dinky 6 to 10 inch ones sold at Target, amazon.com, and bed bath stores. Bed risers need to raise the bed 30 inches.
Already have a bed that needs to be utilized due to dorm requirements. Has to be a lift not a new bed frame.

Uneven Box Set causing achy back?

Currently, we have an Ethan Allen Bed frame (king-size), box set from Select Comfort (~9 inch) and a 9-10 thick (fairly new) futon mattress. The sleep number and other fancy mattresses didn’t work for us.

I was waking up with my severe back-aches and not getting good sleep. In past, flipping the mattress, helps even out the mattress. However, it didn’t help us this time. On close inspection, I realized the box set had become lumpy and uneven. In my mind, it was the box set that was causing problems and not the mattress.

What are the best solutions to fix this problem? I can think of following –

1. Replace the old box set with a new one
2. Use super pallets (as opposed to Box Set).
3. Use plywood planks between the mattress and the box set.

Can somebody advice me on the long-term solution? Note, Futon Mattress works best for us and we replace it almost every year with a new one. So don’t suggest changing the mattress.

Thanks

I am looking to build a pyramid (queen on the bottom, twin on the top) bunk bed frame where I just place the mattresses in. If there is under the bed drawer storage it would be great.

Where can I find a really high platform bed?

I am moving out of my college apartment that provides furniture, and my bed frame here is a full size and the bed is 20" off the ground, providing a ton of storage for me. I don’t want to get a loft bed, just a really really high basic bed frame, nothing fancy. I need the storage space being in a small room next year and want to buy something nearly identical. I can’t really find what I’m looking for online.. if anyone knows of anything please help me out, thanks :)

Is it safe to use my wooden bed frame?

I am in the process of moving to a new apartment. When I went to disassemble the bed, I found a carpet of greenish-black mold on the wall with a lesser amount growing on the wooden bed frame, which was right up against the wall. I treated the frame with bleach water, but there is still a slight stain left. I’m concerned about toxic mold and don’t want to infect my new place with the stuff. What should I do? Note: There was no mold observed on my mattress or bedding.

Where I can I buy cheaper mattresses?

I am just moving into my first apartment and need to buy a mattress, a box spring, and a bed frame. I was wondering where the best place to buy a mattress is as far as price goes? So far, the full size mattresses have been quoted as the equivolent of my rent and utilities combined!
btw i prefer NEW mattresses

Best foundation for foam mattress?

I currently use a steel slat foundation for my memory foam mattress. However, it does not support the mattress well and it sinks in the middle. In addition, the steel foundation is creaky.

What is the best foundation for a foam mattress (provides full support and is stable and sturdy on the ground? Should I just get a platform foundation (and lose the under bed space)? I’m trying to avoid using a conventional bed frame and boxspring.
