I’m a college sophomore and i just saved up about 0 to get a futon. Where is a good place, web site or store , to get a nice cheap futon. Or do you recommend something else?
My husband and I decided to move in together 4 months before our wedding.. His ex wife was very upset. She ranted on and on about how it was setting a bad example and blah blah blah.. Their son had his own room in our home prior to our union but I have a son also who is 2X his age. Their son had never slept not even one night in his own room much less even played in there. He had always slept with his father prior to me but I didn’t feel it was appropriate for him to continue to sleep with his father with me in the bed, so we got an air mattress beside our bed and the son was tickled to death that he didn’t have to sleep in another room. I also didn’t feel it was appropriate for him to share a room with my son who is a teenager. So we made the den a play room and he also had the option of bunking on a futon in there but of course he chose not to. The mother acted like a complete fool about this situation. She even went as far as telling the son that our house was infested with spiders and for him to not dare sleep on that mattress. She instructed him to sleep with his father.. And she even told me that I should sleep on the couch while he was there. I had finally had enough of her immaturity.. She sent a full sized cott to our house to put up beside our bed that I sent back the next day with a sweet little NO THANKS!!! She could not accept that she can’t control our household even where her son is concerned.. She freaked out and sent my husband 50 messages about me and even went as far as having her husband call and try to talk him out of marrying me.. All because the son wasn’t allowed to sleep with his father anymore, mind you he was perfectly fine sleeping in the same room and I was fine not sleeping in the same bed.. Mostly out of respect for the mother and then for her to turn it all around on me like im mistreating him… I am still angry with her and problems have progressed to the point that she isn’t allowed to come to our home or so much as pull into the driveway.. I did threaten her at one point because she lied to my husband about a conversation we had and said that I verbally assaulted her.. Me being strong minded let her know exactly how I could assault her if she came back to our house complaining about petty matters again… So, where do I go from here? I mean the relationship is destroyed between myself and her and I have apologized but she is such a fake person. She said that she would of liked to have got to know me but I made it impossible. Which is a lie because we have a mutual friend that invited us both to 2 different social functions prior to our misunderstandings and she called my husband numerous times to find out if I was going so that she would know not to go or not.. HOW RUDE!!!! I mean seriously.. I could of cared less if she was there or not but thinking she would be more comfortable without me there I declined going and told him to tell her to go ahead and she said she was.. Then low and behold she didn’t attend either and neither did I.. So, this makes me believe she didn’t wanna know me but didn’t want her friends to either… Just don’t know where to go with this situation… Any ideas would be helpful
He lives with his mother but they have joint custody. We are every other weekend and Mondays the off wknd and every Thursday until bedtime…
Right now I am sleeping on a futon with my boyfriend. We are both in our senior year at college, and needless to say, we don’t have a lot of extra money. We went mattress shopping at the beginning of the semester but everything is so expensive, it was pretty overwhelming. I don’t want to buy a cheap mattress because I know I will have it for years, but I can’t imagine buying a 00 mattress right now (even with the payment options… I just dont want to deal with that). So as a temporary solution (We will only be living where we are with this "bed" until May), I thought we should buy a memory foam topper, just to make our "bed" a little more comfortable.

So i have thought about getting a futon for the guest bedroom, but i added a desk and i feel like a futon would make it too claustrophobic in there. So what are the other options that will provide comfort???
Air beds are not comfortable from my experiences… specially when you are talking about 2 people sharing it
perhaps i should consider a mattress pad??
The room is about 10×12 ft. I dont want to lose a lot of space with a huge bed, but at the same time when family or friends sleep over, there needs to be enough room for a couple to sleep in one bed. So that tells me full or queen size. But I wanted to up less room than that so i was thinking a futon, but my fiance says they are uncomfortable. pullout couch is an option, but they are pricey…. suggestions?
I just turned my garage into a "hang-out" room, and i want to put a futon in there, or sofa bed. I found one at target for 9, but it had some bad reviews. Does anyone know where I can get a decent one for 0 and under? Thanks!
I am looking for a place where I can buy large pieces of thick memory foam so I can make a mattress for a futon. I don’t want to buy a pre-made mattress, I just want to buy bulk blocks of memory foam. Any one know where I can find this? I have tried local craft stores like Michael’s and JoAnne fabrics, with no luck.
I bought a Martha Stewart Mission Ensemble Futon from Kmart recently, on sale for 9.99. Immediately after assembling it (to exact directions), the wooden cross beam that supports all the weight broke completely in half! I fell to the floor and fractured one of my vertebrae! I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems with this futon. By the way I am completely average weight and size.
Any suggestions for a futon that will fit in a car?
The mattress can be unpacked and rolled into the back seat. The frame is the hard part. What kinds of them come in unassembled form.
yet it keeps slinking down because i leave it in the chair position. in other words when i sit on the edge of the mattress it falls down because its not on top of anything. has anyone else had this problem with a futon? and how did u fix it?
