I’m looking to buy a memory foam mattress, but I want to be sure that the one I’m looking at will be safe for me to sleep on for years to come. I’m concerned about the toxicity and carcinogenic qualities of petroleum based foam. The company I’m looking to purchase from (bedinabox.com) provides a wealth of information and appears to be very informative, but are there innate health risks with buying a petroleum based mattress? Does the fire retardant add to a risk? Can a company eliminate these risks (they use a foam made by BASF)?
Lastly, if there are risks involved in any/this petroleum based foam mattress, how do those risks compare to a spring mattress, and is it possible to find a memory foam mattress that does not carry health risks? Thank you for your time.

I have to purchase something to use for a mom and two kids to sleep on on the floor this weekend. I want something that I can roll up and store, not too expensive, but comfortable and useful for guests in the future. I’m thinking of a double memory foam mattress topper. or three twin foamies.

I just bought a 12in memory foam mattress from walmart.com for 0. There is an 8in also available for 9. Its not finished processing yet, should I cancel and get the thinner one? Its not a matter of saving money, I just don’t want my bed to look weird and dispassionate.

my bed is pretty uncomfortable, even though its a serta and i bet it was pretty expensive. some days i wake up and my back hurts ALOT. if i bought a 1.5 inch memory foam mattress topper, would that help alot? or should i buy a 4 inch mattress topper? i dont know much my parents are gonna want to spend, the 1.5 inch is about , and the 4 inch is 0!

I was just wondering how much of a difference there is in sleep comfort between a memory foam mattress topper that is 1.5" versus one that is 4". I found a 1.5" twin memory foam mattress topper at walmart for about and I also found a 4" twin xl memory foam mattress topper at Walmart for about . So I am wondering if it is worth shelling out an extra for an extra 2.5" of memory foam or just going with the 1.5" memory foam mattress topper?

I just got a Memory Foam Mattress Topper (only 2" thick), and the directions say to let the mattress topper air out for 3-4 days before putting it on your bed. It doesn’t say why. I was very anxious to start using it right away to alleviate back pain, but now I am bummed I have to stare at it sprawled out on the living room floor for a week. Is there a real purpose for this, or will it not hurt to go ahead and use it? It has been "airing out" for about 12 hours now.

I have a Bissell proheat 2x carpet cleaner and a 4inch memory foam mattress. I have searched online but have only found advice on cleaning it by hand. I am wondering if I can use the attachments on the bissell proheat to clean the memory foam or if the bissell will ruin the mattress.
